The structure of the thesis. The thesis consists of an introduction, three chapters, summaries to the chapters, conclusion. The list of the cited sources includes 74 items. Total work volume – 50 pages of printed text. Purpose of the thesis is to specificity the metafictional techniques in the novels «The Thirteenth Tale» by Diana Setterfield and «The Dungeons Romulus» by Lyudmila Rublevskaya. Problems of the thesis: 1) To decribe the main metafictional technologues; 2) To trace the concept of creative personality reflected in the works; 3) To identify the relation of objective reality and fiction in both works. The peculiarity of the metafictional techniques in the novels «The Thirteenth Tale» by Diane Setterfield and «The Dungeons Romulus» by Lyudmila Rublevskaya is conducted within context of English and Belarusian national literatures, which allows a deeper understanding of common and individual methods of use of the metafictional techniques in the novels of Belarusian and English literature of recent years.
